Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television personality as well as the proprietor of the independently open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. She emigrated from Greece to England at the age of 16 and obtained a MA at Cambridge University in Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the renowned debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student to do so. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she became the voice of Huffington Post. The fame she gained helped her to convince several famous people to share their opinions regarding current affairs, the political and culture. Arianna rose to fame when she made the decision to stand independently in the California recall election to replace then Governor Davis. Apart from this she also directed a Detroit initiative to encourage fuel efficient cars. Forbes named her one of the "most influential woman" in media and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most important media figures in 2009. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media company in 2011, after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by other AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and manager Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. Even though she was close with her father, the relationship she had to her mom was the defining factor in the remainder of her life. In her earliest years, she exhibited the qualities of a leader for which she is still well-known. She moved to England at sixteen to further her studies and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first female president and sole foreign president. In 1972, she earned a degree in Economics. In the years following her degree, she was a columnist-critic and TV host. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own books with his help.
